Project Brief

The Center for Surgery of Encinitas needed a new brand identity.  Founded in 1989, the Center is known to area physicians. The equipment is state of the art advanced technology to ensure the patients get the best care and treatments available. Over the years the Center had come to be known as simply, “477”.

The Challenge

Encinitas, California is a coastal town, with the surgery center being located a short drive from the beach. Management wanted the brand to convey a coastal, laid-back feel while incorporating the colloquial “477” into the logo mark.

The Solution

Utilizing a cool and calming color palette of blue and green, the logo depicts an abstract ocean flow with an implied sunset. With numbers 477 were worked into the sun shape, the brand met specifications.  The logotype “Center of Surgery of Encinitas” was designed to stand on its own apart from the sunburst/ocean symbol.
